Beijing Airport 北京首都国际机场
Beijing's airport ( main English web site ) ( flight info )is 27 km northeast of the city .The arrival hall is on the first floor, departures on the second .There are several banks for currency exchange and have better rates than the hotels .There is a small post office and international atms in the airport .There is a small tourist information booth, but it's mainly for booking hotels . This is not the place to eat or buy last minute souvenirs, as prices are much higher than in Beijing . There is an international departure tax of 90 Yuan . There are several bus companies that go to and from the airport and cost around 16 yuan. Do not use the touts who try to hussle you for an overpriced taxi in the airport . Taxis from the Beijing Airport A taxi from the airport to central Beijing should cost 85 Yuan .An Airport Extension to the Beijing subway began construction in 2005 and is set to be completed on June 30, 2008, in time for the 2008 Olympics

The Beijing Train Station is located next to Jianguomen (建国门), southwest of the Forbidden City, there is a subway station here .Tickets can only be bought 4 days in advance . The Beijing Station Timetable is here . Beijing Station handles trains going towards eastern costal cities There is a separate ticket office for foreigners in the station on the first floor .There is also a newer West Train Station 北京西客站 near Lianhuachi park. Trains departing from Beijing West leave for destinations to the West and South .The train stations have left luggage rooms. When booking a train there are four types of tickets: hard seat (yingzuo)and the somewhat more comfortable soft seat (ruanzuo).More comfortable for the long-haul are hard-sleeper (yingwo) berths, which you will share with five other people and soft sleeper (ruanwo) berths, which you will share with three other people .
Beijing Long Distance Bus Stations
Long distance buses are on of the best ways of getting around the country and a better option if you wished to be let alone. There are sleeper buses for the more distant destinations .Travel by train is a much better way to met people, who are very curious and friendly . There are many long distance bus stations, which can be confusing. Usually, the cities you wish to go to are in the bus station on the part of Beijing you wish to go to .
The four main bus stations are :
North-east Dongzhimen station 东直门 at 45, Dongzhimenwai Xie Jie, there is a subway stop here . There are buses to Chengde, Huairou and Miyun and other northeastern cities .
South: Haihutun station 海户屯.
North: Beijiao station in Deshengmenwai.
